WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - Behind a cold front, today will be a tad cooler than Wednesday. However, high temperatures in the lower 70s keep us a few degrees above average. Expect similar temperatures tomorrow, but gusty winds today will relax on Friday making it a marvelous end to the work week. Stronger southerly winds return this weekend and so do warmer temperatures. Highs in the upper 70s and lower 80s on Saturday will be replaced by middle to upper 80s on Sunday. Farther west, temperatures in the lower 90s may tie, if not break a few record highs. A strong cold front will move across Kansas on Sunday night, and early next week will be cooler with highs in the upper 60s and lower 70s. However, aside from isolated storms north of I-70, little to no precipitation is expected its passage. Looking ahead… forecast models like the idea of a strong storm system moving across the state late next week. While the chance of showers and storms is climbing, the exact timing and impact is uncertain. Tue: Low: 43. High: 74. Sunny. Wed: Low: 49. High: 67. Mostly cloudy; chance of showers/storms.
