COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - Warmer days have returned to South Carolina, as high temperatures reach the low and mid-70s by mid-week! First Alert Headlines . Good morning! A weak, upper-level disturbance is pivoting across the Southeast to start the work week. This morning, it has given us thick cloud cover. One or two sprinkles or light showers are possible in the far Southern Midlands this morning, but chances are less than 20%. By the afternoon, skies will clear as this disturbance moves offshore, helping our high temperature reach the mid-60s. For mid-week, high pressure settles into South Carolina, giving us a spring-like feel for our afternoons. Tuesday and Wednesday, under mostly sunny skies, high temperatures will reach the low and mid-70s. This is about 10 degrees above-average for the last week of February! By Thursday, we’re tracking our next disturbance in the form of a passing cold front. This will bring the Midlands scattered showers and an occasional rumble of thunder. Thursday night, this cold front moves offshore, ushering in slightly cooler air for our last day of the month. Today: Skies clearing to sunshine this afternoon. Highs in the mid-60s.
