- Police continue to search for answers after a woman and child were found dead in an apartment in the 5400 block of Connecticut Avenue of Northwest, D.C.

Woman and child found dead in D.C. apartment

The victims have been identified as 38-year-old Ebony Washington and 1-year-old Kemy Washington of Northwest, D.C.

The cause of death is pending an autopsy by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for the District of Columbia.

Police say they arrived at an apartment in Northwest around 12:47 p.m. on January 18, 2025, for a welfare check. Once on the scene, officers located an adult woman and a baby girl both unconscious and not breathing.

They were both pronounced dead on the scene.

There are currently no suspects.

According to police, this case is a death investigation. Anyone with any information on this incident is asked to contact police.
