One earned run from the Aggies at home in the last 20 innings...

...versus what had been an 0-24 Missouri team whose pitching staff carried an ERA over NINE into the series.

It's hard to even put into words how bad A&M has been at the plate through 2.5 games.

Texas A&M (27-23, 10-17 SEC) all but killed its chances of making it back to the NCAA Tournament after letting last-place Missouri make its way to College Station and sweep the Aggies, which began with an eight-run comeback on Friday night after A&M's three consecutive home runs broke the game open with a 6-1 lead, that eventually dissipated.

A&M's offensive attack, which has relied on the long ball for most of the team's comeback effort during SEC play, exposed the lack of consistent hitting that showed its ugly face throughout the weekend, especially in the final two games. Trailing 4-0 until the final inning on Saturday, the Aggies mustered two hits and one unearned run for a final 4-1 defeat.

On Sunday, two hits were A&M's offensive output yet again, as star outfielder Caden Sorrell's solo home run served as the one earned run in the past two days. Texas A&M's pitching performance didn't matter given the offensive struggles, as better hitting would have likely resulted in a sweep in favor of the home team.

With the loss, Texas A&M is on the very fringe of the NCAA Tournament picture, and will likely need to sweep Georgia and make a deep run in the SEC Tournament to have a shot at the postseason at this point, needing to jump back into the top 40 in the RPI rankings to have a legitimate case.

It's highly confusing

More than likely, yes he does

It certainly feels like a dream

I mean, most coaches do financially

It was on any "expert" bingo card this weekend

He will, though

History will more than likely be made, and it's not the good kind

Exactly

Sometimes, the numbers don’t tell the whole story in the game of baseball.

That was absolutely not the case at Blue Bell Park this weekend. The stats on the other side of Missouri’s sweep of A&M are a clear depiction of what transpired on the field.

Hard to fathom.

It's hard to think of any

We shall see how things proceed from here

Inexcusable terrible weekend of baseball.

When it’s this prevalent and unexpected, leadership must be questioned.

What was expected vs. reality

Pitifull performance

In the final 24 innings of its three games vs. Missouri (the worst pitching staff in the SEC), Texas A&M scored only two runs and went 6 of 73 with 26 strikeouts.

Can't disagree

Texas A&M got up 6-1 on Mizzou early on Friday night, and then proceeded to get outscored 22-2 the rest of the weekend en route to a sweep at the hands of a team who came in winless in SEC play.

Just an unbelievably awful performance from a team who still had a ton to play for.
