ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ) - According to the Alzheimer’s Association , about 1 in 9 people age 65 and older has Alzheimer’s.

To help shine a light on Alzheimer’s, there’s a celebration event happening this Friday, June 20th, which is the summer solstice or The Longest Day.

The Longest Day Beach Block Party is happening will take place at The Harmony Collection at Roanoke Assisted Living Campus from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.

The event recognizes the Longest Day and the fight against Alzheimer’s.

There will also be a Dementia Assimilation Test.
