ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) - It’s a week jam-packed with traditional practices, cultural celebrations, ceremonies from Indigenous cultures from across the state. The 2024 annual Elders and Youth Conference started with registration on Saturday and showcases vendors, traditional cultural practices, dances, speeches and ceremonies at the Dena’ina Center in Anchorage through Wednesday night. Registration is required for this event. The Alaska Federation of Natives Convention that’s scheduled to start at the Dena’ina Center on Thursday is free and open to the public.
