Florida Gators forward Alex Condon withdrew his name from the 2025 NBA Draft, announcing his return to Gainesville for the 2026 season on Tuesday afternoon. As a sophomore, Condon started 36 games while averaging 10.6 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 2.3 assists throughout Florida’s National Championship season. The Perth, Austria native set career highs in almost all statistics including an increase in FG% (.493) and 3P% (.322). On April 16th, Condon announced his decision to enter the NBA Draft while maintaining his college eligibility. Condon was one of 75 athletes invited to the NBA Combine, joining Walter Clayton Jr. and Alijah Martin as the Gators represented. While at the combine, Condon measured in at 6’11.25 without shoes on and held a 7’0.75” wingspan. Condon also impressed teams with his 34.5” vertical leap and 2.76 second shuttle time, which marked the 4th fastest time among forwards at the event. Here is what Condon posted in shooting drills at the combine. In an interview with Sports Illustrated’s Kevin Sweeny , Condon declared that he would need a guarantee to stay in the draft, noting he’s projected around the 20-35 range. “I’ve got a good situation waiting for me at Florida,” Condon said. “It has to be a good situation for me to stay (in the draft), but feedback I’m getting from teams right now is positive and I’m ready to stay in if I need to.” Condon’s return means Florida’s backcourt is loaded once again, joining Thomas Haugh, Micah Handlogten, and Rueben Chinyelu, who recently announced his decision to withdraw from the NBA Draft and return to Florida. With the top four contributing front court players back in Gainesville after a National Championship run, the Gators are primed for another excellent season with the talent head coach Todd Golden has accumulated through the transfer portal. Florida has added a trio of guards in Princeton’s Xavian Lee, Ohio’s AJ Brown, and Arkansas’ Boogie Fland. Florida has one scholarship spot open after Condon’s return, which Golden and his staff plan to use for a developmental type player. “We’re not going to rush,” Golden said on the last addition. “I think we have a great group right now, and my hope is with this last spot, we’ll be able to find more of a developmental type player, a guy that’ll come in and be happy to learn behind some guys. So we’re not going to rush. But if that turns out to be a European player, I’d be very happy with that as well.”
