For me, reading has always been a passageway to life and adventure outside of my small Maryland town! It opened up my eyes to different places I'd like to see one day -- to history I'd like to find out more about! And if you're like me, you're always looking for a new book to crack open or a place where you can go and be with other bookworms like you. So, here are a couple cool literary events in Baltimore that can help you achieve that!
Maryland Humanities' Literary Mount Vernon Walking Tour

See Baltimore in a more literary light with the help of the unique Maryland Humanities' Literary Mount Vernon Walking Tour! You'll start your walk at the Enoch Pratt Free Library, and guides will show you 13 sites where literary and cultural figures lived or worked during their lifetimes. You'll be able to see the boardinghouse where Upton Sinclair was born, step into the room at the Peabody library where John Dos Passos wrote, lay eyes on the Baltimore School for the Arts where Tupac Shakur attended briefly, visit the Emmanuel Episcopal Church where Edna St. Vincent Millay read her poetry often, and more!

The Baltimore Book Festival is a three-day piece of
heaven for book lovers! You'll have the chance to meet both local and nationally-known authors, attend book signings, check out what booksellers are offering, listen to reading, hear what authors have to say at panel discussions, work on your skills at workshops, and see what top chefs are cooking up. If you have a reader-in-training with you, there are storytellers and projects for them, too. And you can even listen to live music and peer at their food, wine, and craft beer program!
