“This past season, one of the girls I play club volleyball with actually texted me and kind of asked me if I ever thought about playing volleyball after high school,” Fast said. “I wasn’t really sure at the time. And then about a month ago, my mom and I went on a visit up there. I just loved everything about it.”

Fast committed to the Creston, Iowa school, and she joins another West Nodaway senior Savanna Marriott — who will also play basketball — in the SWCC recruiting class.

“I love that it is kind of a small town,” Fast said. “It wasn’t too far for me, and then everything after that just kind of happened. I’m from a small town, so that kind of was one of the things I was looking at when going to college. (Marriott) is actually playing there, too, so to be able to play with her again is pretty exciting.”

The Thunder senior averaged 3.2 kills per set and had 57 blocks on the season, earning All-KMAland Missouri Elite Volleyball Team honors.

“I’ve always kind of thought (about playing college volleyball),” Fast said. “The more games I’d play in my senior year, the more I was excited to play (in college). The excitement for the game kept growing.”
