T he 2025 Arizona Tiki Oasis is coming to Scottsdale this week, bringing entertainment and an island lifestyle to the Valley Ho. Set to run Thursday-Sunday, April 24-27, at the Valley Ho, 6850 E. Main St., the event encourages attendees to wear festive aloha garb, sip tropical cocktails crafted by top mixologists, browse a pop-up art show, learn about mid-century style, design, and lifestyle from experts, shop the outdoor marketplace with a variety of artists, makers, and traders. Arizona Tiki Oasis is the second event launched by the team of Otto and Baby Doe building on their original event Tiki Oasis. Launched in 2019, Arizona Tiki Oasis is now in its seventh year. Southern California’s family-run Tiki Oasis was conceived in 2001 as a fundraiser to support the rehabilitation of the Palm Springs Caliente Tropics Motel, the most elaborate of a chain of five California Tropics motels and an important part of Tiki history. The event was moved to San Diego in 2006 to support the historic Bali Hai Restaurant and Hanalei Hotel. Now Tiki Oasis is held at Town and Country Resort and is proud to be the original and largest Tiki event in the world and features five nights and four days of live music, dance, DJs, vendors, poolside entertainment, kids activities, an art exhibit, plus top experts giving educational seminars. Arizona Tiki Oasis is a family-run small business that “promotes equality, diversity, and inclusion.” “We believe in the historic preservation of American pop culture through the lens of modern-day values,” it said in a release. The event will support the Arizona Preservation Foundation, which was founded in 1979 and works with local, state, and national partners to promote and protect Arizona’s historic resources. A number of the evening events are for adults only. The $159 2025 Evening Resort Pass includes access to curated evening events in settings such as the Skyline Rooftop, sophisticated private suites, The Sands Nightclub, Meet & Mingle/Art Opening, The Stardust Social, exclusive suite soirées, evening entry to resort pools, Arizona Tiki Oasis Marketplace, and sample tastings. A Deluxe Evening Resort Pass, $320 and available only online, includes the Evening Resort Pass venues, also includes a limited edition numbered Arizona 2025 Tiki Mug designed by Eekum Bookum valued at $150 as well as an AZTO Tote Bag, an exclusive kick-off cocktail party, and a speakeasy-style cocktail party. Live entertainment will include The Martini Kings, The Cocktails Hours, Slack Key Obana,Voodoo Five, Moonlight Magic and Burlesque Hall of Fame member Ruby Joule. Among the event highlights is Friday’s Glam-o-Rama, a dress-to-the-nines retro evening of fashion, food, cocktails and conversation that begins with a poolside reception at 6 p.m. with 50s-inspired hors d’oeuvres and supper in the hotel’s Palm Court. It will include live music by The Martini Kings as well as a mid-century modern vintage fashion presentation by Clever Vintage. Tickets are $139. The Tiki Oasis also will offer over 20 educational seminars on architecture, music, fashion, cocktails, rum, and more. The marketplace runs Saturday-Sunday and charges no admission. It is called the largest Tiki marketplace in Arizona. In addition, an art show in the hotel lobby will showcase 25 top international Tiki artists. At 2 p.m. Sunday, the Arizona Tiki Oasis Bartender Battle pits some of the best bartenders in Arizona against each other in a no-holds-barred, head-to-head cocktail throw-down.
