The driver said he wanted to be done with work for the day.

Residents in the Loch Raven Village neighborhood of Baltimore County reported an unusual sight on Sunday evening: an Amazon delivery truck driver dumping undelivered packages into the sewer.

Police were called to the scene and interviewed the driver, who admitted tossing the packages down the sewer because he was ready to be done working for the day. The driver is a temporary worker.

Amazon issued a statement on Monday evening:

“We have high standards for delivery service partners and expect every package to be handled with care. We’ve notified the right teams internally and will work with the customers directly on matters related to their package delivery.”

The driver was not arrested, though an investigation is still taking place.
