SCOTT COUNTY, Va. (WDBJ) - UPDATE: The infant and suspect were found safe, according to Scott’s County Sheriff’s Office. The AMBER Alert has been cancelled.

ORIGINAL STORY: Virginia State Police and the Virginia Missing Children Clearinghouse have issued an AMBER Alert on behalf of the Scott County Sheriff’s Office, regarding a child abduction that occurred May 6, 2024, at 8:10 p.m.

Police say the boy is believed to be in extreme danger and was last reported seen wearing only a diaper on Daniel Boone Road in Gate City, VA.

Cedar Samuel Griffith was taken, according to police. He is ten months old and Black, with black hair and brown eyes. He is 30 inches tall and 20 pounds.

The child is believed to have been abducted by Ashley Jordan Griffith, who is white and has blond hair and hazel eyes, according to police, who say she is 5′ 6″ and 115 pounds.

Police say they may be in a blue 2005 Lexus RX330 with an Tennessee temporary tag. Police ask anyone who sees them to call 911.
