You are in danger of committing mass “social murder” if you vote for the so-called budget of Mr. Trump. It is a doctrine of neglect and a callous mentality; it's an assault on everything we hold dear in a democracy.

Not only is it ill-conceived from the start, it is clearly slanted to benefit the already rich while ignoring the basic needs of the average citizen.

The cuts to Medicaid alone will cause widespread illness and death. When one gets sick without Medicaid or some kind of health insurance they will go to an Emergency Room where they know they will be treated. We don't have enough trauma-certified doctors to staff the overflow that will come. So many safety-net programs have been cut, there's no place some can go to get aid of any kind.

Quality medical care for all is a right of all our citizens—not just the lucky few who can afford insurance or pay without insurance just because they're rich.

Take a look at Medicaid in Kansas and—at least—have the courage to meet with the people it will affect the most—the poor, children, the disabled, the needy, and the elderly. At least, be willing to hear their stories and their pleas.

Let your civic conscience be your guide: will you follow Trump's mandate and forget all the people who count on you? We are watching, and if we lose Medicaid for any of our citizens we will speak with our vote..

Count on it.
