Residents and visitors can receive up to 4 hours of complimentary parking through New Year's.

This holiday season, Annapolis is giving the gift of free parking. Starting on Black Friday, residents and visitors alike can enjoy three hours of complimentary parking on select streets downtown.

The promotion runs daily through New Year's Day and is a convenient perk for shoppers to take advantage of the plethora of retailers and restaurants in Maryland's capital.

Meters located on Main Street, Francis Street, West Street, Maryland Avenue, Prince George Street, City Dock, Calvert Street, and Market Space are eligible for the promotion, and an additional fourth hour can be claimed when using the ParkMobile app and entering the promo code ParkDTA.

if you're an Annapolis resident, the city has something extra for you. Free two-hour parking will be offered at city-owned garages Gotts, Knighton, Park Place, and Hillman. Simply visit the Annapolis Park office or Hillman garage to show proof of residence with a current government-issued ID. There will also be parking validation available for select businesses under the Park, Shop, & Dine program. Makes perusing stocking stuffers and grabbing happy hour bites all the more tantalizing, don't you think?

The promotion will be active during anticipated events throughout the season, including Small Business Saturday on November 27; Grand Illumination on November 28; and Midnight Madness on December 2, 6, and 9, which features reduced parking fare at the Knighton and Park Place garages and extended Circulator service.

A few things to know:

  • Meters will not be enforced on Thanksgiving Day (November 25), Christmas Day (December 25), and New Year's Day (January 1).
  • The promotion does not apply to meters labeled "30 Minutes Only"
  • Don't have a smartphone to get the ParkMobile app? No worries, you can call 877-727-5758 to redeem the additional hour.

Until then, you can take a look at the city's stores and restaurants here. Happy shopping!
