EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - We’re just a few weeks away, from the time, when pitchers and catchers report to spring training. That typically happens around Valentine’s Day. Before that though, most of the MLB teams make their annual tours, to visit with all their fans, and that includes the Saint Louis Cardinals. Sunday night, the Birds came to Meeks Family Fieldhouse, for their annual stop, in Evansville, and the Cardinals' stars, in attendance, were infielder Thomas Saggese, and pitchers Chris Roycroft, Kyle Leahy, and Sem Robberse. Cardinals alumni on hand, were pitcher Al Hrabosky and outfielder Kerry Robinson, and also, Cardinals' radio network personality, Matt Pauley, was here, to serve as emcee. Most Cardinal fans are forever loyal, thru thick and thin, and even when they have a down year, they back their team. These guys appreciate that, and it makes them want to win for them, even more. We spoke with Robberse, Saggese, Roycroft, and Leahy, about how much fun it was to be in Evansville, how great the Cardinal fans are, and how much they all want to bring home a winner for them. In just a few weeks, Cardinals pitchers and catchers will report to spring training, on February 12, and the rest of the team joins them down in Florida, on February 16.
