PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Look for more weather changes across Arizona today as one storm winds down and moves out, and another approaches. Valley residents are waking up to chilly morning temperatures in the 40s under partly cloudy skies. Skies will cloud up later today and temperatures will only climb to 59 degrees, which is almost 20 degrees below normal for this time of year in Phoenix. Another storm system will move through Arizona by this evening, bringing a 10% chance of showers to the Valley this afternoon, and a 50% chance of rain this evening and tonight. Rainfall amounts should be around a quarter of an inch or less in most spots in the Valley metro area. Snow showers continue to wind down this morning in the high country. Several schools are closed, along with several stretches of highway as of Friday morning. Snow totals ranged from about 3 inches in Prescott to 8 inches in Flagstaff. A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect from 3 p.m. today until 5 a.m. Saturday for the next storm system. Flagstaff could pick up another 4-6 inches, with 1-2 forecast for Prescott, and 2-3 inches on the way for Payson. Show Low is in for another 2-3 inches of snow. Pine and Strawberry could see another 6-8 inches today, with 1-2 inches for Heber Overgaard. A dry weekend is ahead after the storm winds down Saturday morning. In the Valley, look for a high of 68 degrees on Saturday and 76 degrees Sunday. Next week, a weak storm system is set to push through on Tuesday. While light snow is possible that day in far Northern Arizona, the Valley will likely stay dry but see some breeziness and a cooldown. See a spelling or grammatical error in our story?
