COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - Clouds will gradually decrease through the day, leaving us with partly cloudy to mostly sunny skies this afternoon. Highs will be similar to yesterday’s, topping out in the mid 80s across much of the Midlands. High pressure at the surface and aloft continue to influence our weather in the Midlands. High pressure at the surface is helping to steer in a warm southerly flow. This is gradually leading to increased humidity across our region in addition to above-average temperatures. Other than a mostly cloudy start to the day, Easter Sunday’s forecast is similar to yesterday’s weather. Changes in our weather pattern start to emerge heading into the workweek. A weakening front will move into the region late Tuesday, This could trigger a few late day showers for the western Midlands. Better chances for a few showers and storms arrive as the front moves over top of South Carolina and stalls midweek. Our weather pattern remains a bit unsettled mid to late week. Today: Becoming partly cloudy to mostly sunny. High temperatures in the mid 80s. Tuesday: A stray shower possible west. Highs in the middle 80s. Wednesday: 30% chance of showers and a few thunderstorms. Temperatures in the middle 80s. Thursday: Scattered showers and thunderstorms. Highs in the mid 80s. . .
