Arapahoe Basin Ski Area announced on Tuesday, May 23, that it will be extending its season by a week! Now the ski resort will open the slopes for a "bonus weekend," June 9-11.
Thanks to the huge snow storm on Wednesday, May 18, Arapahoe Basin will be reopening on June 9 for an additional weekend. The new close date is June 11.
Arapahoe Basin's
website says,
Arapahoe Basin will operate with normal skier services seven days a week through Sunday, June 4. All skier services will be closed Monday (6/5) through Thursday (6/8). A-Basin will reopen for lift-served skiing and snowboarding on Friday, June 9. Closing day is currently scheduled for Sunday, June 11, 2017."
The base will be closed Monday, June 5, through Thursday, June 8, but will reopen for the bonus weekend. This affects Black Mountain Express and Lenaweee Mountain lifts – which will operate from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

The snow storm brought more than two feet of snow to the mountain resort. A-Basin received about 370 inches of snow this season.
