Each year, arc Thrift Store's "A Celebration of the Human Spirit" takes time to recognize three arc Ambassadors, employees with developmental disabilities.
On Saturday, September 9, arc Thrift Store will host their annual gala and auction honoring their employees with developmental and/or intellectual disabilities. It will feature a special dinner honoring three outstanding employees nominated by their peers, a fashion show, and a silent auction. arc Thrift Stores was founded in 1968, and it provides funding to support advocacy and services for people with developmental and/or intellectual disabilities. They currently operate 25 stores across the Front Range and employ nearly 300 people with disabilities. They offer enrichment programs, job training and placement, and social activities for their arc Ambassadors. The money raised at the gala goes a long way towards making those things happen. One such example is local spa The Woodhouse Day Spa. They will be contributing by styling the arc Ambassadors including hair, makeup and clothes (all of which will come from arc Thrift Stores). They will also style and dress the Channel 7 anchors who will be escorting the models down the runway during the fashion show.
