WASHINGTON — Diamondbacks second baseman Ketel Marte left the April 4 game with what was announced as a left hamstring strain . Marte pulled up short of second base on an extra-base hit and it was plain to see that he'd hurt his left leg. Marte hobbled off the field on his own and made it down the dugout steps to the clubhouse. Just a couple of days after the Diamondbacks and Marte agreed to a contract extension , Marte could miss anywhere from days to weeks or more depending on the severity of the hamstring injury. The team is set to call up infielder Tim Tawa from Triple-A Reno, a source told The Arizona Republic. Tawa, who spent some time in major league spring training, is off to a sizzling start at Reno with a .391 batting average, including three home runs, 12 runs batted in and a 1.419 OPS. But Marte, whose double raised his batting average to .346, must be placed on the injured list first, and a hamstring injury almost certainly means he will land there. Garrett Hampson replaced Marte in the lineup.
