The Arizona State Sun Devils football team finished with its highest final ranking in a post-season poll in nearly 30 years.

The Associated Press released its final college football Top 25 poll of the season Tuesday and you don't have to scroll down far to find the Arizona State Sun Devils, who finished the season 11-3 overall with an appearance in the College Football Playoff quarterfinals.

ASU football is ranked No. 7 in the poll, its highest ranking in the AP poll since it finished ranked No. 4 after the 1996 season, when it last played in the Rose Bowl, losing to Ohio State.

The Sun Devils are also ranked No. 7 in the US LBM Coaches Poll . USA Today sports also ranked the Sun Devils at No. 7 to close out the season.

Kenny Dillingham's team rose three spots from the final regular season AP poll after its 39-31 loss to Texas in the Peach Bowl on Jan. 1.

Not bad for a team that entered the season ranked last in the Big 12 preseason poll.
