(First InMaricopa) Arizona State Troopers are investigating a sedan tattered with bullet holes through its windshield on Bowlin Road in Alterra this afternoon.

Reporters on the scene counted at least nine bullet holes in the driver’s side windshield of a black Lexus ES, which was pulled over on westbound Bowlin Road between Alterra Parkway and John Wayne Parkway.

The crime scene is about 150 yards east of Maricopa Elementary School and 150 yards west of the Bungalows on Bowlin. Police activity there has been heavy since 12:45 p.m.

Troopers on the scene confirmed no one was hit by gunfire. The troopers could not release any further information. They asked reporters not to photograph inside the car.

Two Maricopa police units, three Department of Public Safety units, Maricopa Fire Ladder Tender 571 and an ambulance were on the scene at 2 p.m. A gurney was unloaded from the ambulance.

A witness told InMaricopa at 2:30 p.m. she saw a male in a black shirt being handcuffed.

InMaricopa has contacted DPS and the Maricopa Police Department for comment.
