Are you the next American Idol? The audition bus is coming to Richmond.
The critics at American Idol are coming to Richmond on Monday, September 3. And if you think you're a good singer, they're looking for you.
The audition bus will set up at Main Street Station at 1500 E. Main Street, with auditions beginning at 9 a.m. Registration begins at 7 a.m., and anyone registered before 5 p.m. on Monday will get an audition. The event is expected to draw thousands to downtown Richmond.
The audition age range is 15 to 28 years old. Aspiring artists of all backgrounds, styles, and eccentricities are encouraged to try their chances in this initial round. (But if you've been on the show before, judges ask you to sit this one out.)

If producers don't think you're "absolutely dreadful," you'll get your chance to perform in front of three celebrity judges and 6.3 million American Idol viewers in January 2019. The new season's judges are Katy Perry, Lionel Richie, and Luke Bryan.
The series that launched the careers of Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, and Jordin Sparks is being revived for its second season with ABC. Now the search is on.
The cross-country talent quest is scheduled from August 22 to September 20. Richmond is one of 24 cities where auditions will take place. You can find the full Open Call audition schedule on the ABC website.
