Changes are coming to the Aurora Reservoir, beginning this Saturday, June 15.
There will be new operating hours and some restrictions on alcohol use and loud music, albeit temporarily.
"Aurora Reservoir is a beautiful and unique space within the city, and one that we want all guests to be able to enjoy," said Brooke Bell, Director of the City's Parks, Recreation and Open Space Department (PROS). "We are making these changes to improve the experience for all guests and to assist our staff in managing the large crowds we see during the warmer months."
The city said park hours will be 5 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. Guests will also see increased security on the weekends to help "ensure the safety of all visitors" and assist park guests.
Temporary changes now prohibit loud music and the possession and consumption of alcohol inside Aurora Reservoir. These regulations will be "strictly enforced," the city said.
New signs in English and Spanish have been posted to remind visitors of these new park hours and restrictions. Please note that the changes won't impact any prescheduled, permitted, large-scale events or any other PROS facilities or parks.
