Austin, a city renowned for its vibrant music scene and culture, is also a haven for brunch enthusiasts. Each weekend, locals and visitors alike flock to various spots around the city in search of the perfect blend of breakfast and lunch delights. Join us as we explore some of the top brunch spots that Austin has to offer.

Best Brunch Spots in Austin:

Banger's Sausage House & Beer Garden

During my visit to Austin to see a good friend of mine, one standout memory is our time at Banger's. I don't remember exactly what sausage sandwich I ordered, but I do remember it was extremely tasty. They also serve an array of more traditional brunch food (and some more creative brunch options)! This Brunch spot was not only absolutely delicious, but it also had a great vibe. There was a band playing live music, which was so much fun. They did instrumental versions of hits like Carrie Underwood's "Before He Cheats." We also ordered giant drinks!

The Peached Tortilla

The Peached Tortilla is an Asian-fusion spot with Southern charm. They have various locations and a really fun menu with items such as Rice Cakes With Sichuan Pork and a Korean Steak and Eggs Bowl. They've got great drinks as well, with beer, wine, and cocktails available. If you don't want alcohol, you can opt for something like juice or coffee, or go ahead and try their seasonal drinking vinegar. According to the website, the Burnett Road (the flagship) and Bar Peached locations are the only ones that serve brunch, and the airport location does have breakfast items. Keep in mind, the brunch menus also vary depending on location.

Dai Due

Dai Due focuses on using regional foods, ensuring you'll have a fresh and delicious experience, while also supporting the local economy and sustainable practices. This means the menu frequently changes, which keeps things interesting. You can view one of their sample menus on their website.

Caroline

Everything at Caroline is made fresh daily. Start your dining experience off with some deviled eggs for the table. For the main event, you can get a sandwich or a plate such as the Sweet Corn Cake Benedict. You can pair your meal with a bloody or a mimosa, or, if you don't want alcohol, they have plenty of delightful-looking smoothies and juices and awe-inspiring coffee options.

The Cavalier

For a Southern-inspired spot, hit The Cavalier. With options like a Chicken Biscuit and Chicken and Waffles, you can't go wrong. If you like a more traditional breakfast, go for the Basic B*tch, which features two fried eggs, a choice of bacon or meatless sausage, and a choice of grits or a biscuit. They've got alcoholic and non-alcoholic options that will please any type of guest. They even offer a N/A hop water, if you want a beer vibe without actually consuming beer.

Corner Restaurant in Austin

For more Southern cuisine, check out Corner Restaurant in Austin. Their website encourages you to "Treat yourself and those you love to an experience inspired by bold Texan spirit." They offer really fun options and update their menu seasonally. Start off with the French Toast Fritters or House-Made Biscuits for the perfect introduction to your day.

Frazier's Long & Low

If you're tired of seeing kids everywhere you go (no offense, kids), Frazier's Long & Low is a good place to check out for brunch, as they state, "Not a place for children of any age". Their brunch doesn't start until noon, but then it lasts until 5 pm. So, if you've had a rough night and had to sleep it off longer than normal, Frazier's has you covered. If you feel like going all out, order the Fuckit Bucket, which comes with two Flapsticks (a breakfast sausage corn dog), 4 Chicken Strips, 2 Pancakes, and your choice of a champagne bottle, a beer bucket, or a cider bucket. Don't forget to try the Fried Green Tomatoes!

Mattie's

Mattie's is a really cute restaurant with a storied history. It serves Southern fare and has a beautiful vibe. While you're there, try the Milk Punch, an original recipe from Mary Faulk Koock. It is made with sweet vanilla cream, aged Kentucky bourbon, VSOP cognac, aged rum, and nutmeg. Of course, they also offer N/A options!

Gerladine's

Gerladine's is another fantastic brunch option that has live music and "contemporary Austin fare". Order the mini cinnamon rolls with cream cheese for a bite of something sweet, and go all out with the Steak and Eggs as your main, which features wagyu skirt state and chimichurri. And why not go for a mimosa carafe if you have a crowd?

Stella San Jac

We're rounding out the list with the Austin-American-inspired Stella San Jac. They put their own twist on traditional Southern dishes and feature live music, both of which have become something of a theme in this article. Austin certainly has a distinct vibe! Rejuvenate yourself with one of their fresh-pressed juices, such as the Rejuvenate, which includes Mixed Berry and Almond Milk Smoothie. Or maybe you want to feel Inspired, Energized, or Refreshed. They have juice for that too! And if booze is your move, they have that too! Get biscuits for the table, served with whipped honey butter, and enjoy your brunch journey at Stella San Jac.

Austin's brunch scene offers a culinary adventure that caters to every palate. Although the brunch scene is very Southern-heavy, each establishment brings something unique to the table. Whether you're in the mood for a Basic B*tch at The Cavalier, seeking a child-free environment at Frazier's Long & Low, or looking to indulge in the storied elegance of Mattie's, Austin has you covered. In essence, brunch in Austin is not just a meal; it's an experience that embodies the spirit of the city—innovative and irresistibly delicious.
