On the last Friday of each month, the Baltimore Bike Party is the place to be for a fun themed bike ride through Charm City. Don’t miss out!

If you’re looking for a way to get your workout in AND have a blast, then you’ve come to the right place. The Baltimore Bike Party is a monthly bike ride that brings together people of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities. All you need to join is a bicycle! Borrow a friend’s or bring your own cruiser – all that matters is that you have fun.

How It Works:

Each month, a core group of volunteers organizes the ride by picking out a route through Charm City, which is usually about eight miles or so. Then they pick a theme, which kicks up the fun factor. This month’s theme is “Light Up the Night!” which is open to interpretation. Decorate your bike with lights, wear light-up clothing, raid the glow stick shelf at your local party store – anything to make you stand out goes!

And the beautiful part is that this event is completely FREE to attend. The motivation behind it is to simply bring together our community to share in something unique, quirky, fun, and healthy at the same time. When was the last time you got out and rode your bike? Well, this party is the perfect excuse to dust off that contraption and kick off your summer of biking.

The event starts at the same location each month -- St. Mary’s Park in Seton Hill (600 N. Paca St.) – you literally can’t miss it! A crowd of bikers in helmets and themed outfits will be waiting on the green grass of the park. On Friday, April 27, participants are asked to be at the meeting place by 6:30 p.m. for any logistics and important announcements. Then the party moves out into the streets at 7 p.m. sharp! The ride lasts until 9 or 9:30 p.m.

And, of course, no party is complete without an after-party! This month, the festivities will continue at Mount Vernon Marketplace, conveniently the end-point of the ride. Food and drinks will be available for purchase.

Even though there is no fee for this event, RSVP on the event’s Facebook page and check it out for any event-related announcements.
