Baltimore County is grappling with a disturbing situation, as authorities have placed a Perry Hall High School gym teacher under arrest on multiple child sex abuse charges. Sean Brooks, the 40-year-old teacher, now finds himself held without bond, according to information released by WBAL-TV . With the arrest made off school grounds, the charges at hand involve three known victims. However, law enforcement urges anyone with further details or concerns that their child may be a victim to contact the Crimes Against Children Unit. Brooks, who has been associated with Perry Hall High School since August of 2017 has allegedly conducted these abhorrent actions on school property, and the school's administration, amid the revelations, has placed him on administrative leave, barred him from all district property, and in a letter to parents which WMAR 2 News detailed, Principal Abbey Campbell declared, "These charges are deeply disturbing, and this alleged behavior is completely unacceptable and will not be tolerated." The reactions extend beyond concern, verging on a deep sense of dread for the safety of children, as Malaya Gamble shared with WMAR 2 News her fears, saying "Maybe look into the vetting process of some of these instructors to make sure that they don't have a history of abusive tendencies is something to consider," and with a tremble in her voice, she added, "I pray that it doesn't happen to my child. It's just something you've got to always be concerned about. All the different violences and different things that go on, this thing on top of that, it's just what's next unfortunately." This case is still under active investigation, and the Baltimore County Police Department, in collaboration with the Department of Social Services, is committed to bringing any additional information to light.
