Jimmy Smith, a cornerback for the Baltimore Ravens, was traveling with his family on Tuesday when they were robbed at gunpoint after being followed from Los Angeles International airport (LAX) to their hotel.
"We are aware of the situation involving Jimmy Smith," the Ravens said in a statement. "We have spoken with Jimmy, and he and his family are safe.''
