HARTFORD, CT (WFSB) - A benefit for a museum and an animal rescue is set for this weekend. The 9th Annual Bark Twain Bash is happening on Saturday, Nov. 16 at the Mark Twain House and Museum in Hartford. The event benefits both the museum and Kenway’s Cause Animal Rescue. Channel 3’s Renee DiNino and Hartford playwright and arts advocate Jacques Lamarre were tapped as the hosts. “We will be recognizing people and pets who have dedicated their lives to advocating for others and have helped the City of Hartford Animal Shelter, Kenway’s Cause Animal Rescue and The Mark Twain House & Museum,” DiNino said. Groups and people that will be recognized include CT Dog Gone Recovery volunteers, Laura Burban of the Dan Cosgrove Animal Shelter, volunteers for Kenway’s Cause, The Lewie Kids, University of Hartford’s Officer Calderon and his comfort K9 Officer Teddy, and Amy and Tao LaBossierre who are Hartford artists. Attendees will be able to meet and greet all of the honorees, especially K9 Teddy. Tickets are $40 and include vegan treats by Rastarant. There will be tasting of The Long Drink for people age 21 & older only. A cash bar will be available too. “Help support Kenway’s Cause, which solely helps the City of Hartford animals and their residents,” DiNino said. People can get tickets at the door up to 6:30 p.m.
