COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO) — Becky Hill was back in court. The former Colleton County Clerk of Court during the Alex Murdaugh murder trial was arrested Wednesday morning on felony charges.

57-year-old Hill was charged with three felonies out of Colleton County — two counts of misconduct in office, and one count of obstruction of justice.

And in Richland County, Hill has been charged with perjury.

She went before a judge in both counties today — where she was given Personal Recognizance bonds (aka PR bonds) for all charges.

Hill has been accused of allowing a photo of Murdaugh in a holding cell to be taken to promote her book she wrote about the trial.

She’s also been accused of giving herself bonuses, and using Colleton County money to buy dozens of lunches for staff, prosecutors, and vendors.

Hill received a $10,000 PR bond for each of her felony charges, and a $50,000 PR bond for her perjury charge.

This type of bond means Hill is free to go — with the bond only activating if she doesn’t show up for her next hearing, which has been scheduled for July 18th in Colleton County and July 25th in Richland County.

Hill was the Clerk of Court during Murdaugh’s trial — where he was found guilty of murdering his wife and son.

Her court appearance on July 18th will be at the Hampton Street Courthouse in Colleton County, the same courthouse where the Murdaugh trial took place.
