The best and worst dressed: Who stole the show on the 2017 Emmys red carpet and who should’ve stayed home?

Now that the winners have their trophies, it's time to dissect who really won the night as the best dressed -- and who, unfortunately, missed the mark.

Nicole Kidman (Best)

nicole kidman Besides being one of the big winners last night, Kidman ruled the red carpet. She dazzles in this beautiful Calvin Klein. The pink accessories make the flowing red gown pop.

Jessica Biel (Worst)

Jessica While Biel does look gorgeous, this is going to be a no, unfortunately. All the elements (hair, dress, etc.) would be amazing on their own, but together, it just looks a tad messy.

Viola Davis (Best)

viola davis Davis never does wrong on any red carpet. She is always choosing unique colors that others wouldn’t dare to put on their bodies. Who knew orange could look soooo good? Her makeup and hair are also beautifully done.

Ariel Winter (Worst)

[caption id="attachment_3139" align="aligncenter" width="199"]Ariel winter Photo courtesy of John Shearer/WireImage[/caption] I don’t know who thought multiple slits would be a good idea, but they need to be fired immediately. It takes away from too much and doesn’t even do anything for the dress (or should I say pieces of cloth because how is this even a dress with those big slits?)! It isn’t a surprise that she almost suffered a wardrobe malfunction on the carpet.

Shailene Woodley (Best)

shailene I’m in love with this look. The shimmering Ralph Lauren looks spectacular on Woodley. The emerald works amazing with her new blonde locks. The minimal makeup works as well because it isn’t distracting from the beautiful ensemble at all.

Amanda Crew (Worst)

amanda crew The Silicon Valley star is taking her role a bit too seriously in this ensemble. The sheer sequined gown needs to be toned down a tad. The yellow enhancements don’t work with this at all. Maybe this would be one of the bests if not for that speck of sunshine.

Julia Louis- Dreyfus (Best)

Julia TV’s favorite funny gal and record-setting winner looks great in this Carolina Herrera dress. The black dress pops with the yellow pieces and works great with the green earrings. She always knows how to dress and win.

Reese Witherspoon (Worst)

Reese This is probably one of the most disappointing looks of the night, considering how amazing Witherspoon always looks on the red carpet. While this look usually goes over pretty well, it just looks like Reese forgot her pants. I’m sad.

Ellie Kemper (Best)

ellie This was one of the more unique pieces on the red carpet this year. The mix of jeweled accents and beautiful blue and purple makes this look like a true work of art.

Heidi Klum (Worst)

[caption id="attachment_3138" align="aligncenter" width="199"]heidi Photo courtesy of John Shearer/WireImage[/caption] This dress looks like Klum just rolled out of bed. She probably was attempting a Bohemian chic look, but this, unfortunately, falls flat.

Millie Bobby Brown (Best)

millie This cutie looks like such a princess. I can’t take it.

Carrie Coon (Worst)

[caption id="attachment_3142" align="aligncenter" width="200"]carrie coon Photo courtesy of Frazer Harrison/Getty Images[/caption] The Leftovers star reminds me of a homecoming queen in this dress -- and not in a good way. This gradient piece should’ve stayed on the rack.

Lea Michele (Best)

[caption id="attachment_3137" align="aligncenter" width="196"]lea Photo courtesy of Steve Granitz/WireImage[/caption] Purple was one of the big colors of the night, and Michele shines in this Ellie Saab creation. While the color and design looks amazing, I would consider dropping the belt because it doesn't really add anything.
