There's nothing quite like the carefree feeling of careening down an icy hill on your apparatus of choice. Here are the best sledding hills in the Denver metro area!

We're pretty lucky to live in a hilly, sledding-friendly state -- as opposed to, say, the flatlands of Texas or Florida. #blessed So bundle up the kiddos and head to one of these locales for a great sledding experience!

Ruby Hill Park and Rail Yard | Denver

With both a classic hill (arguably the best in the metro area) and a free rail yard with jumps for skiing and snowboarding (courtesy of Winter Park), Ruby Hill is centrally located and perfect for every level of snow sport ability. Stapleton's Central Park | Denver

This manufactured hill at Central Park in the Stapleton community is perfect for sledding and has been entertaining neighborhood residents for several years! [gallery type="rectangular" size="medium" ids="29186,29183"]

Robinson Park | Denver

Located at E. 3rd Ave. and S. Forest Street, Robinson Park is a long-time community favorite! [caption id="attachment_29184" align="aligncenter" width="1000"]sledding Courtesy of Nina O., via Yelp[/caption]

Ken Caryl's Sledding Hill Park | Littleton

This one's a fave from my childhood. With sweeping scenic views, this park at Ken Caryl is actually (accurately) named "Sledding Hill Park." The slope is gentle but loooonngg. And in my experience, it tends to get pretty busy! [gallery type="rectangular" size="medium" ids="29102,29103,29104"]

Meadowood's Sledding Hill | Aurora

At the corner of S. Laredo St. and E. Dartmouth, the park outside Meadowood Center makes a great hill for sledding. Bonus: Because the hill is literally right off the street, parents of big kids can sip on warm drinks while watching the activities from the comfort of the car. DTC's Wallace Park | Denver/Greenwood Village

We're told that the best sledding conditions at Wallace Park lie at the corner of Wabash and Union! Let the kiddos sled to their hearts' content.
