Iowa was one of the first states to legalize sports betting after the U.S. Supreme Court overturned the Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act (PASPA) in May 2018. It took a little more than a year for the state’s legislature to officially launch sports betting, which became legal there on Aug. 15, 2019, with the passage of HF 2497.

That said, Bet365 didn’t debut in the state until June 5, 2023, via a multi-year partnership with Casino Queen Marquette.

Bet365’s late launch meant it avoided some of the more frustrating parts of Iowa’s rollout, as bettors first had to register at one of the state’s licensed casinos to bet. However, they’ve been able to register online for any mobile sportsbook since 2021.

A British-based gambling company, Bet365 has quickly become one of the top betting options in North America. The site is known for its industry-leading welcome offer, simple interface and smooth betting experience, making it one of the most popular sports betting sites in the world.
