By the end of the night, a champion will be crowned in the Big 12. Fighting for that crown will be No. 2 Houston and No. 3 Arizona . The Cougars and Wildcats are set to tip off in the championship game of the Big 12 basketball tournament Saturday at T-Mobile Center in Kansas City, Missouri at 4 p.m. MT (3 p.m. Arizona time). Houston advanced to the Big 12 championship game with a commanding 74-54 win in the semifinals over No. 17 BYU on Friday. Emmanuel Sharp led the Cougars with 26 points on an efficient 7 of 13 shooting from the field, while Houston's defense held BYU to 21.4% from the field on the day. A win on Saturday would mark the first Big 12 conference tournament title for Kelvin Sampson's squad. As for Arizona, the Wildcats punched their ticket to Championship Saturday by defeating No. 9 Texas Tech in the semifinals on Friday. A win on Saturday would not only be the Wildcats' first Big 12 title, as they joined the conference over the offseason, but should boost Tommy Lloyd's team's projected NCAA Tournament seeding. The winner of Saturday's championship game, of course, will head home with the conference's Big 12 automatic bid for the NCAA Tournament and have a less stressful Selection Sunday.
