KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - As the Big 12 Conference continues its existence as a 16-team league, the league’s commitment to Friday night football as a weekly entity is growing. On Friday, the league announced the slate of games scheduled to play on Fridays this fall, which features a game each for the local Kansas colleges. For the second straight season, Kansas State will play the Arizona Wildcats on a Friday. After beating Arizona 31-7 in Manhattan last September, K-State will head to Tuscon for another Friday night Wildcat fight on Friday, Sept. 12. Kansas will end its first season in the newly-renovated David Booth Memorial Stadium with a Friday game during the final weekend of the regular season. The Jayhawks are set to host the Utah Utes on Friday, Nov. 28. Kickoff times and TV networks remain unclear, but the Big 12 in total is set to play 10 games on Fridays this season. Of the 16 teams in the league, 13 will appear in a game on Friday this season. Houston, Colorado, Arizona and Arizona State are each scheduled to play two games on a Friday this year.
