The PGA Tour is returning to Maryland over the summer.

Fans experienced a thrilling finish last time the BMW Championship was held at Caves Valley Golf Club in Owings Mills in 2021 .

Patrick Cantalay outdueled Bryson DeChambeau in a six-hole playoff to claim the title. The championship was the penultimate event of the FedExCup Playoffs.

The top 50 golfers on tour will return to the course from Aug. 12 through Aug. 17.

Scores were lower than usual four years ago, but the course has undergone numerous upgrades and changes to better challenge the best golfers in the world.

It will be even easier to get kids out to the course in 2025.

"Kids get in free to the championship. So, 15 and under get in free to the tournament, and we think that's really important to grow the game and expose kids to golf -- really the fans of the future of our sport," said Vince Pellegrino, vice president of tournaments with the Western Golf Association.

Tickets for the BMW Championship go on sale Thursday at the link .

All proceeds from the tournament will benefit the Evans Scholars Foundation, which provides full college tuition and housing to youth caddies. More than $5.6 million -- a record -- was raised for Evan Scholars last time the championship was in Maryland.
