Wichita police are investigating after a body was found in the Little Arkansas River in the Riverside neighborhood Thursday evening.

Kayakers found the body around 6:30 p.m. near the 500 block of North Nims.

Police said the body is that of a man in his upper 30s to early 40s, and he may have been dead for a couple of weeks. An autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of death.
