BOISE, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — The Boise State Broncos are officially playoff-bound. Boise State (12-1, 7-0 MW) is the third-highest-ranked conference champion and will play in the VRBO Fiesta Bowl on Dec 31. BSU finished as the No. 9 overall team in the College Football Playoff Rankings but will have a first-round bye after winning the Mountain West Championship and will play the winner of SMU/Penn State. The announcement was made Sunday during the College Football Playoff selection show. Boise State head coach Spencer Danielson will speak with the media at 3:00 MT on the announcement. Boise State’s lone loss of the season came to No. 1 Oregon (13-0, 9-0) on the road on Sept. 7, when it lost 37-34. The Ducks beat Penn State on Saturday to claim the Big Ten Championship.
