BOZEMAN, Mont. — The Bozeman City Commission held a public hearing for two low-income housing projects. “These two low-income housing projects will yield 341 new affordable housing units for our community,” said David Fine, city Economic Development Program manager. The Sage Peak and Alder Ridge apartments are being proposed on the north and south side of Graf Street east of South 19th Avenue. Sage Peak Apartments will reportedly be senior housing, and Alder Ridge Apartments is slated to be family housing. Fine said Tuesday night’s public hearing was held due to Montana code requiring the local government to give due notice of the project’s location, listen for public comment and to ensure the project meets a community housing need. The parties are seeking a 4% low-income housing tax credit allocation from the Montana Board of Housing to construct and preserve the affordability of the Alder Ridge and Sage Peak apartments. Construction is currently underway and is expected to conclude in 2026.
