Broomfield police will host a Her Own Hero Mother’s Day class “for mothers and daughters to feel empowered together,” from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 11 at the Broomfield Police Detention Center 11600 Ridge Parkway.

The four-hour course covers safety essentials such as boundaries, mindset, assertiveness and situational awareness, according to the class’s website. It is free and open to all women above the age of 15, regardless of previous experience or fitness level, according to the post.
