IOWA PARK, Texas (KAUZ)- Carlitos is a family-owned restaurant with three locations in the Wichita Falls area and they are being featured on a popular online restaurant show known as “America’s Best Restaurants”. Carlos and Eduardo Moreno are not only brothers, but are also the General Managers of Carlitos. Carlos said the feeling of being recognized is great, especially with the 24th anniversary of the restaurant on the horizon. “My Dad and my Mom opened up their first location in Burkburnett around 23 years ago. We’re about to turn 24 years [old] in March and it’s an amazing feeling that we’ve been open for so long. [It’s awesome that] we’re able to be highlighted by a show and show all the great stuff we have here at Carlitos,” Carlos said. Eduardo said due to growing up in the restaurant business, it was hard not to fall in love and get involved with the family business. “I mean as a kid working at a restaurant and you see none of your friends are working, you probably don’t like it so much. You’re like ‘Oh I’m forced to be here. Growing up little by little, you just start loving it, man. you just want to be a part of it,” Eduardo said. America’s Best Restaurants is a popular online show that has over 20,000 followers across various social media platforms. When asked how the business and all those involved will stay grounded after being recognized by the show, Carlos said they’ll lean on their patrons. “Honestly what keeps us grounded is the community because from the beginning it has always been the community that’s supported us and helped us. Every time we post something all the positive impact we get from them we are more than grateful for. Like I said when we announced this I probably had 200 comments on the post. I replied to every single one because you can’t say one’s important and the other is not. Every single person that says ‘Oh Carlito is a great place’ I am more than grateful for [them] because obviously without that support Carlito wouldn’t be possible. I think that’s what keeps us grounded mostly is the community that supports us and is always behind us,” Carlos said. Both Carlos and Eduardo credit their customers and community for the success.
