The C.A.S.T. for Kids Foundation is holding an event on October 5 for special needs children at Lake Lewisville, just north of Dallas.

The event will be held at Stewart Penninsula Park (in the Colony) in Lake Lewisville from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

This event is designed to provide children with special needs, ages 6–18, the opportunity to enjoy a quality outdoor recreational experience through the sport of fishing!

If you have or know of a special needs child, please have them register as soon as possible. Each child will need a guardian to accompany them while on the water! Expect 2–3 hours of fishing, a delicious lunch, and an awards celebration where your child will receive a personalized plaque to commemorate the event.

Volunteers are needed in the following categories: boats for this event, boat captains, co-boat captains, and shoreline volunteers to help with shore activities and the free lunch.

If you volunteer for this event, you should expect to spend about 6–7 hours there, including arriving before participants and staying after to help wrap things up.

For additional details, don't hesitate to contact the organizers, Kevin Williamson (630-358-7734) or James Dobson (972-740-9074). For more information, please visit the C.A.S.T. for Kids Lewisville Lake website.

This is a day of fishing that the children, families, and volunteers will never forget!
