PHOENIX (AZFamily) — If you‘ve been holding onto your ballot, now’s the time to send it in. Tuesday is the last day that Arizona voters can mail in their ballots to be counted in the general election next week. Mailing it today will make sure it arrives at the county recorder’s office by 7 p.m. on Nov. 5. This deadline only applies to mailing in ballots. Voters can still drop off their ballots at secure ballot drop box locations between now and 7 p.m. on Election Day. If you‘ve changed your mind on early voting, Maricopa County Recorder Stephen Richer said that‘s not an issue. You can still go into a polling location on Nov. 5 and cast your vote, and you don’t need to bring your early ballot with you. But be aware, he said, this year’s ballot is lengthy, and the polling process could take some time. “The ballot is immense, and the response to that, the board of supervisors has opened more voting locations, and at each voting location they have more check-in locations, more booths for voters, but the point still stands, voters are going to take longer on average because it is 79 contests on average,” Richer said. Richer said his office has already seen over 1 million voters participate in this year’s election, which is over half of all registered voters in the county.
