Another successful run of Cats kicks off an amazing summer season full of Broadway favorites at the DCPA.

Since its debut on the Broadway stage nearly 40 years ago, Andrew Lloyd Weber's Cats has captured the hearts of audiences worldwide in more than 30 countries and has been translated to over 15 languages. This groundbreaking musical has become a favorite for the people of Denver, and just recently stopped in the Mile-high city for its 10th year.

The Denver Center for Performing Arts (DCPA) just ended their latest production of Cats, which ran from April 24-28. Each year the show seems to break another box office record, and this year was no different. The production grossed $1,724,150 during the show's four-day stay. This record-breaking event proved to be a major boost for Denver's economy, generating over $6.2 million from travel, restaurants, and hotels, among other things.

This successful showing is a great example of Denver's rich artistic community and how much we value the musical theater. It was also the perfect way to start what is going to be an amazing line of upcoming shows this summer. Here a few of the other Tony award-winning musicals you can expect to visit Denver this summer.
