PFF's pick for the Cardinals' most underrated player is a good one.

The Arizona Cardinals have several known playmakers on their team. The biggest names you will hear about are quarterback Kyler Murray, running back James Conner, receiver Marvin Harrison Jr., tight end Trey McBride and safety Budda Baker.

All are appropriately recognized for their play.

But who would be the most underrated player on the team?

PFF gave the most underrated player on every roster , and the pick for the Cardinals is a good one. They named cornerback Garrett Williams.

Williams operated as the Cardinals' primary slot cornerback in 2024, delivering the second-best PFF coverage grade (83.7) among qualifying cornerbacks in the regular season. He is set to once again man the slot in 2025 after allowing just a 25.9% first-down-plus-touchdown rate in coverage there this past season — tied for the seventh-best mark among 114 qualifying slot cornerbacks.

Williams also let up just 0.67 yards per coverage snap while working out of the slot, which was a top-five mark.

Williams is on the verge of being great. He isn't the biggest name, but if he improves at all over last season, people around the league will take notice.

The question is whether his role will expand in 2025 or whether he will continue to man the slot only.

They drafted Max Melton in the second round last year and added Will Johnson in the second round this year, and they still have veteran Sean Murphy-Bunting and Star Thomas.

The battle for playing time at cornerback will be a fascinating one.
