Do you love The Newseum? Are you a fan of the 1960s? Well, then you’re in luck because the museum will be hosting a '60s night on Friday, October 27.
The Newseum Nights "Loves the '60s" will be the perfect party to start off your Halloween weekend! Here’s everything you need to know before you head to the event.
WHERE: The Newseum | 555 Pennsylvania Ave NW | Washington, D.C. 20001 WHEN: Friday, October 27 | 7:30–10 p.m. COST: $40–$48 members | $48–$60 general admission
So what is there to do at a party like this? Well, the event will feature an open bar that’s included with the price of admission. You can enjoy beer and wine, or if you’re really in a groovy mood, sip on some decade-inspired cocktails. Food highlights include deep-fried cheesy fondue risotto balls, meatball sliders, and tie-dye cupcakes, among other tasty treats.
Once you’ve been wined and dined, there will be tons of activities to partake in. Check out the beauty bar and get your hair done '60s-style, and even add a flower crown for maximum effect. You’ll also be able to get body painting, do a palm reading, and snap a couple shots in the photo booth. Several gallery talks with Newseum curators will also discuss '60s society and the Civil Rights Movement. And of course, there will be lots of dancing; DJ Andrew Logan will be spinning themed tunes to really get you in the vibe.
