Celebrate the Fourth of July With a Black Hawk Helicopter Flyover in Colorado Springs

The Fort Carson-based 4th Infantry Division will perform the flyovers on Saturday in celebration of Independence Day!

Colorado Springs area residents will have another reason to look to the skies on July 4. Officials announced that a Black Hawk helicopter flyover will be performed this Saturday by the Fort Carson-based United States Army 4th Infantry Division, along with the City of Colorado Springs. The flyovers will pay tribute to those brave individuals who have served the nation in the armed forces, past and present.

The flyovers will start at approximately 6:55 p.m. and will last until 9 p.m. on Saturday and will be followed by fireworks displays.

The flyover route includes the areas surrounding Colorado Springs:

Switchbacks Football Club
Banning Lewis Ranch
Falcon Freedom Days at Meridian Ranch
The Club at Flying Horse
Garden of the Gods
Patty Jewett Golf Course
The Broadmoor
Country Club of Colorado at Cheyenne Mountain Resort
The Broadmoor Shrine
Fort Carson

Fireworks are currently scheduled to launch from each of these 10 areas following the flyovers, and the event will include a special patriotic concert. This year, the “Symphony on Your Porch” concert played by the Colorado Springs Philharmonic will be broadcast on several local radio stations. Tune into Sunny 106.3 FM, Y96.9 FM, KCME 88.7 FM, AM 740 KVOR, 92.9 Peak FM, and the iHeartRadio app to catch the concert. The entire event will also be live-streamed on KKTV.

There have been several flyovers in recent months to honor those lives lost to the COVID-19 virus, those who are working the front lines of the pandemic, and those who have served in the military. The addition of the Black Hawk helicopters to this year’s Fourth of July festivities will certainly add some excitement to the celebration, as many events across the state have been canceled or modified due to coronavirus concerns.
