ALEXANDRIA, La. (KALB) - On March 3, the Junior League of Alexandria hosted its ninth annual “Cenla KidzFest” at Frank O Hunter Park from 10 am to 1 pm. The free event featured demonstrations, vendors focused on health and wellness, community resources and tons of fun activities for the kids to enjoy. The Junior League of Alexandria says the event is focused around lifestyle health, wellness, and safety for third through eighth graders. Crystal Cheatam with the league explained why this age group is crucial. “That’s the grade where we feel like those kids are preparing to head onto junior high and high school and we want to make sure that they know about safety. We want to make sure that they know about how to take care of themselves physically emotionally mentally as they move into those junior high in high school years. We just want to make sure that the community is aware of fun and innovative ways to keep everybody safe and healthy so that we can all be here to get back to our great community,” Cheatam said. Cheatam said the organization was able to put on today’s event through the donations it receives and through its community partners. If you missed out on the March 3 festival. Cheatam encourages you to check it out next year. to report a typo. Please provide the title of the article in your email.
