Are you looking for a new job?

A lot of people want to transition into a new career but aren't exactly sure where to start. That’s why a career fair may be a good idea to start exploring what options you have and what companies are out there.

The Washington, D.C., Career Fair will take place on Thursday, August 23, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Renaissance Hotel at 999 9th Street NW, Washington, D.C., 20001, and is completely free to the public to attend.

Over 500 different companies will be present at the career fair, from a wide variety of industries and sectors. A lot of these employers will be at the fair because they have open positions and are looking to hire, so make sure you dress your best in professional, clean, tailored clothing and bring your resume (in a nice manila folder or something to make sure it won’t bend).

To make sure you get a name tag, I recommend registering here

Come in with an open mind because you never know who you’ll meet at these fairs. It’s your opportunity to network not just with the people behind the booths, but other people attending the fair. Who knows? Maybe that guy trying to leave his job and look for another, currently has your dream job and can introduce you to the hiring manager. You just never know!

And if you’re ready to apply to that dream job, make sure you follow these tips to have your application stand out amongst the rest.
