The Kansas City Chiefs are bolstering their defense with the addition of a former first-round draft pick. The Chiefs officially welcomed former Vikings defensive lineman Jerry Tillery to the team on Wednesday. NFL insider Ian Rapoport reported that Tillery was
signed to a one-year deal in Kansas City. Tillery has been in the NFL since 2019, spending his first four seasons with the Los Angeles Chargers before moving to the Las Vegas Raiders and then the Minnesota Vikings. Tillery played in all 17 games last season, starting in 11. Tillery shared his first message to Chiefs Kingdom on X, formerly known as Twitter. "Excited to get started. Go Chiefs," he said, posing with what is likely his first piece of Kansas City merch. The Chiefs also shared a few facts about Tillery to help fans get to know him as a player. "Tillery has demonstrated the ability to play both as an interior rusher and an outside defensive end during his career," Chiefs reporter Matt McMullen wrote on chiefs.com.
